    LWSD Summer Programs

    Core, Enrichment, Accelerated and DigiPen Summer Programs

    Each year, the Lake Washington School District offers summer school classes for elementary, middle, and high school students. Classes are available in a variety of subjects, including English, math, reading, language arts and history.

    Summer School Catalogs are available online as well as the registration form for each level, Scholarship Application, and Laptop Agreement for Middle and High School (see links in the forms box to the right). Printed catalogs will be in all LWSD schools and the District Resource Center by April 15.

    Online registration and payment for in-district students begins the week of April 22 through June 20 until 11:59  p.m. Paper mail-in registration for all students begins the week of April 22 through June 14. Walk-in registration runs June 25-26 at Redmond High School from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and late registration is June 27 at Redmond High School from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. A late fee of $25 will be required for those registering after the June 26 official registration deadline. Registration ends June 27.

    Core Summer School programs will run July 8 – August 2, 2019.

    Elementary Core Academic Summer School (Grades PreK-Pre-6)

    Elementary School Enrichment Camps (Grades 1-5)

    Dates:

    • Session I: July 6 - July 19, 2019
    • Session II: July 22 - August 2, 2019

    Fees:

    Invitation Only Programs

    High School Invitational Credit Retrieval Program (Grades 9-12)

    Dates: July 8 - August 2, 2019
    Location: Redmond High School

    Intervention Programs supports high school students who need to recover credit in core subjects. Students participating will potentially have the capability to recover credit for multiple courses, and they can choose to participate in morning and/or afternoon sessions. Students are invited by counselor recommendation to take part in this program.

    Students invited by Intervention Services do not register using the paper catalog registration form or the standard online registration form through Parent Access. Students will register for this program through their counselors. Registration ends June 20.

    High School English Learners (Grades 9-12)

    Dates: July 8 - August 2, 2019
    Location: Redmond High School

    The program uses the English Language development curriculum, Inside, to develop academic literacy, writing, and vocabulary.

    Summer Bridge Academy (Grades 6-8)

    Dates: July 8 - August 2, 2019
    Location: Redmond Middle School, Kamiakin Middle School, Rose Hill Middle School

    This half-day program is offered by invitation for current 6th – 8th graders who are not yet proficient readers.

    Middle School Prep - Current 5th grade students entering 6th grade in Fall 2019

    Dates: July 8 - August 2, 2019
    Locations: Redmond Middle School, Kamiakin Middle School, Rose Hill Middle School

    The half-day program will include lessons on leadership, the first sixth grade mathematics unit, and the development of reading fluency and comprehension through classic literature. Students are invited by teacher recommendation.

    Elementary English Language Learners (Grades K-5)

    The program uses science content to build academic vocabulary and concepts through hands-on learning, journaling, reading, writing, and speaking.

    Our Elementary Summer Literacy Academy focuses on building foundational literacy skills. Students are invited by teacher recommendation.
