Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. We say their names not because they are the only three. They are three of many whose lives were taken and sadly, their names are now part of our history as a country that should be better because of the promise that was put forth that all people are created equal.

    Paper forms can be dropped off at the front desk of the LWSD Resource Center (16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond, WA 98052), 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

    Moving or Leaving Lake Washington School District Over the Summer?

    If you are withdrawing from the Lake Washington School District, please let us know by sending an email with the following information to registrar@lwsd.org:

    • Student first name and last name
    • Student birthdate
    • Lake Washington school attended during the 2019-20 School Year
    • Name of school (public, private or home) your student will be attending during the 2020-21 school year

    Lake Washington serves about 30,000 students in 54 schools. Our students live in Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish and portions of Bellevue, Woodinville and unincorporated King County. The following steps will provide you with all the information and forms you need to register your child.

    Steps to register new students (grades K-12)

    Home-based instruction (homeschooling)

    Declaration of Intent to Provide Home-Based Instruction must be filed annually
    If you are a family who intends to provide your child or children home-based instruction in lieu of attendance or enrollment in a public school, an approved private school, or an extension program of an approved private school, you must file an annual declaration of intent to do so. Download the Declaration of Intent to Provide Home School Instruction here, or visit the district’s Resource Center (third floor) to obtain a copy.

    If partial Home School Instruction is requested, please also fill out the Request for Part-Time Attendance form.

    Transfer options: Attending a school other than the assigned neighborhood school

    In-District Variance Process: Students who live in the district

    Between District Transfers: Students who live outside the requested district
