More than 4,100 distinguished students recognized nationwide

Redmond, Wash. – The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced this week that one additional Lake Washington School District (LWSD) student will receive a National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarship:

Kevin Zhang, Nikola Tesla STEM High School - National Merit Purdue University Scholarship 

A group of freshman from Nikola Tesla STEM High School is helping kids with Cerebral Palsy move around a little easier. As part of their end of year project, this team partnered with a program by the name of Go Baby Go

Dozens of LWSD students earned their way to the 2021 International Career Development Conference (ICDC), which was held virtually in late April and early May. Of that group, about 30 students competed as finalists and two students placed as high as third.

    How to Waive Extra-Curricular Fees for High School

    If your student is in High School and qualifies for free and reduced meals, you can have the fees associated with extracurricular activities waived. This includes ASB cards, athletic participation and other non-curricular activity participation.

    Please follow the instructions under A or B below depending on your stage in the process

    1. You submitted free and reduced lunch application and have been approved for this school year.
      Please complete the “Consent to Share” eligibility form in Family Access and follow these instructions | Español. Please allow 1-2 business days for the fees to be waived in Online Payments after completing the form.

      You must login to Online Payments and select the extra-curricular activity you would like your student to participate in. The fees associated with those activities should be waived and the amount due will be $0.00. You must complete the $0 purchase transaction for your student to be registered for the activity.
       
    2. You have not submitted a free and reduced meal application this school year and you believe you qualify.
      Please complete the Free and Reduced Application | Español and return to F-Rmealapp@lwsd.org. You must select the check box under #7 on the application, "consent to share child nutrition program eligibility information for additional benefits." Please allow 10 business days for the fees to be waived in Online Payments after completing the form.

      You must login to Online Payments and select the extra-curricular activity you would like your student to participate in. The fees associated with those activities should be waived and the amount due will be $0.00. You must complete the $0 purchase transaction for your student to be registered for the activity.
