School Meals & Nutrition

Two young girls with bright, cheerful expressions are holding slices of watermelon and appear to be enjoying a fun, colorful environment.

The school lunchroom is more than just a place to eat – it's where students build friendships and find a sense of belonging.

LWSD school menus are available on Nutrislice, an online menu service that keeps communities up to date on their school’s daily breakfast and lunch menus. Find the latest school meal menus, nutrition information and more:

Food allergies and special dietary requests

All menus are elementary and middle school menus are pork-free. Pork is offered on a limited basis for high school students to allow for personal preference.

Vegetarian items are offered each day at all Lake Washington schools.

Menu accommodation will be made for students with documented food allergies or intolerances. Complete and return the Request for Special Dietary Accommodations | Spanish | Russian.

Under federal regulations, a diet accommodation must be completed by:

  • A licensed physician (when identifying a disability such as a life threatening food allergy or diabetes) or;
  • A Recognized Medical Authority (RMA) when identifying a non-disabling medical condition such as a food intolerance: Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Physician’s Assistant (PA) with prescriptive authority, Naturopathic Physician, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). A medical statement signed by a Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) may also be accepted.

Personal or religious food preferences such as vegan, vegetarian or halal do not meet the definition of a disabling or non-disabling medical condition for which a special school meal will be provided. Families and students are encouraged to become familiar with the school meal menu to identify days in which these menu options are readily available. See school menus.

If your child requires a special diet consideration:

  1. Please complete the diet accommodations form: Request for Special Dietary Accommodations | Spanish | Russian
  2. Have form signed by your family’s doctor, a licensed physician or a RMA
  3. Completed forms must be submitted to the Nutrition Services office at:
    1. 15130 N.E. 95th St., Redmond 98052 or;
