2 Semesters 1 Credit Fulfills: World Language

Prerequisite: Spanish 2

This class is conducted in Spanish using a communicative approach. Students will build on the basics learned in Spanish 1 and 2 to further develop Intermediate proficiency, using sentences and strings of sentences to express themselves. Students continue to deepen their intercultural and communication skills  through interpersonal speaking and writing, presentational speaking and writing, and interpretive reading and listening. Students continue to build Intermediate proficiency through various means, which may include reading articles and text, watching films in the target language, giving oral presentations, reading short stories, and writing original stories in Spanish. Topics focus on global challenges, family and community, beauty and aesthetics, and the customs and traditions of the people of the Spanish-speaking world.
