Prerequisite: Spanish 1
This class is conducted in Spanish using a communicative approach. Students will build on the basics learned in Spanish 1 with the goal of developing Novice High to Intermediate proficiency, using simple sentences to express themselves. Students develop their intercultural skills and communication in Spanish through interpersonal speaking and writing, presentational speaking and writing, and interpretive reading and listening. Students continue to learn about Spanish-speaking cultures through various means, which may include written materials, movies, speakers, group projects, computer activities, music, and games. Topics focus on contemporary life, family and communities, and global challenges, among others.
Spanish 2 is not recommended for Heritage or Native speakers of Spanish. If you speak Spanish at home, please register for Spanish for Heritage Learners (available at EHS, JHS, LWHS, and RHS starting in 9th grade), Course Code FOR591/592.
