|1 Semester||0.5 Credit||Fulfills: Science|
Prerequisites: Biology in the Earth System recommended
Students in Environmental Botany explore plant structure and function, and their environments. The class emphasizes hands-on experiences in growing plants and in using plants as a medium to study science. Students will become familiar with common plants, trees and flowers of the Pacific Northwest. The semester allows time for students to work on their own investigations involving germination, foraging, as well as exploring the nearby wetlands and forests. The students also use the greenhouse to learn how to grow and care for house plants, seedlings and newly propagated plants.
