Students will have advanced opportunities to learn, improve and analyze their muscular fitness. This one semester course continues to develop student's mental and physical strength. Students will apply principles of strength training in a variety of exercises, including Olympic lifts, and activities based on increasing athletic performance. Areas of focus may include: phases of training, proper lifting techniques, core development, personalized lifting program, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Students will deepen their muscular strength development in becoming physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity and strength.
