Air Quality
Preparing for poor air quality due to wildfire smoke
Seattle | King County Public Health has shared that wildfire smoke is forecast to start early in King County this year and will last into the fall. Lake Washington School District (LWSD) monitors regional air quality forecasts. LWSD follows recommendations from the Washington State Department of Health for determining when outdoor activities must be modified to keep students and staff safe. The Washington Children and Youth Activities Guide for Air Quality was updated in July 2023.
We will notify families via ParentSquare and social media if any changes to activities must occur due to air quality.
