Lake Washington School District Goes Electric!
On September 24, LWSD celebrated the arrival of four new electric school buses with a ribbon-cutting event at Old Redmond Schoolhouse.
Special guests including Superintendent Dr. Jon Holmen, Rep. Suzan DelBene and Rep. Dr. Kim Schrier gathered to mark this exciting step toward sustainability.
Guests toured the bus and enjoyed a short ride through Redmond, showcasing the future of clean student transportation.
These state-of-the-art buses – two large and two small with wheelchair stations – were funded through federal and state grants supporting zero-emission vehicles and charging infrastructure.
