Celebrating Transition Academy students for their outstanding service

Celebrating Transition Academy students for their outstanding service

On November 19 and 20, Rose Hill Elementary had the privilege of hosting students from the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) Transition Academy, who generously dedicated their time and talents to serve drinks to the entire Rose Hill staff.

This thoughtful gesture was more than just a warm cup of coffee. It was a demonstration of teamwork, professionalism and community spirit. The students’ attention to detail and friendly service created a welcoming atmosphere that uplifted staff and reminded them of the power of connection and gratitude.

LWSD Transition Academy is a community-based program for young adults receiving special education services. The focus of the Academy's program is to prepare students for work, life and leisure in their community after high school graduation (through their 22nd birthday). Unlike a traditional classroom, the Academy is a base for "real classrooms" which are a wide variety of settings in the greater Redmond-Kirkland-Bellevue communities. The efforts of these Transition Academy students at Rose Hill Elementary exemplify the values of collaboration and service that strengthen our district community.
