Research lands two LWSD students in Top 300 of Regeneron Science Talent Search
LeoLian and Srishti Boral Regeneron Science Talent Search

Two LWSD seniors were named Top 300 Scholars in the 85th Regeneron Science Talent Search. The students were selected from more than 2,600 entries.

Srishti Boral, Eastlake High School, and Leo Lian, Lake Washington High School, will each receive $2,000. Each of their schools will also receive $2,000 to use toward STEM-related activities.

Srishti’s project title was “Computational Design of Small-Molecule Activators of the AtlA Autolysin To Induce Internal Cell Death in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.”

Leo’s project was titled “Bridging the Justice Gap for Pro Se Civil Rights Plaintiffs: AI-Assisted Complaint Drafting Guided by Analysis of 3,750 Federal Cases.”

The Regeneron Science Talent Search scholars were selected from more than 2,600 applicants from 826 high schools in 46 states, Washington, D.C., Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and 16 countries. The scholars were selected based on their exceptional research skills, commitment to academics, innovative thinking and promise as scientists.

View the full list of scholars. The top 40 Finalists will be announced on January 21. Finalists receive $25,000 and are eligible to compete for the top prize of $250,000 in Washington, D.C. in March.
