Lake Washington School District is proud to celebrate the creativity and innovation of three Redmond High School students who have earned national recognition for their work in technology. Isabella Li, Hiya Pandey, and Anya Mehta were announced as winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for Washington’s 1st Congressional District by Congresswoman Suzan DelBene.

Their winning app, AnemoDx, is designed as a non-invasive, early warning system for individuals at risk of anemia. The app estimates hemoglobin levels and alerts users if their levels are too high or too low, encouraging them to seek medical attention when needed. This tool is especially valuable for people in rural or underserved communities who may have limited access to regular blood tests or healthcare facilities.

The students’ work stood out among submissions reviewed by a panel of impartial judges from the local technology community. In addition to the first-place honor for AnemoDx, third place went to SwiftPermit, created by students from Lake Washington High School.

As part of this prestigious recognition, AnemoDx will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year, alongside winning apps from other congressional districts across the country.

The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition that encourages students to explore coding and computer science, fostering skills that prepare them for future careers in technology and innovation.
