High School Day Update - March 24, 2025

High School Day Update - March 24, 2025

Dear LWSD students, staff and families:

We want to share an update about the work to implement a common schedule across the four comprehensive high schools for the 2025–26 school year. We have made a modification to the schedule, so class periods are numerically sequential throughout the week.

Additionally, in the video linked below, we provide a description of how time is allocated for periods across a week in the common schedule, as well as how the schedule was shaped by community and staff feedback. You’ll hear more about the 45-minute period built into the week to support student learning in a variety of ways, and you will learn about the adjustment we are making to address unintended consequences as well as the most common actionable feedback from staff, students, and families.

We appreciate your ongoing engagement and partnership as we work to implement the common high school schedule to support all students.

Sincerely,

Scott

Scott Beebe, Deputy Superintendent
Lake Washington School District
