Mead Elementary honors retiring principal

Margaret Mead Elementary School held a surprise assembly to honor Principal Sandy Klein who is retiring after 14 years leading the school. As students filed into the Commons, many stopped to give their principal a hug. The Mead PTSA honored her with flowers and gifts and the students sang songs they learned for this occasion. The assembly was attended by Principal Klein’s family, including her 96-year-old mother. Principal Klein began teaching in Lake Washington School District at Rose Hill Elementary in 1986
