LWSD student selected to be on national editorial advisory council for weekly children’s magazine

LWSD student selected to be on national editorial advisory council for weekly children’s magazine
Manvi Manoj - Thoreau student

Manvi Manoj, a fourth grade student at Thoreau Elementary, has been selected to serve on The Week Junior Council, a national student advisory council for “The Week Junior,” a current events magazine written for young readers across the United States.

Manvi was chosen during the magazine’s Spring 2026 term through a competitive national application process. As a council member, she will participate in virtual meetings with the editorial team throughout the term, offering feedback on upcoming magazine content, sharing student perspectives on current events and contributing ideas that help shape future issues.

As part of the program, Manvi will also receive advance reader copies of children’s books to review and discuss. Council members have opportunities to interact with authors and provide input that supports the magazine’s book recommendations and literacy features. These experiences help students strengthen reading, analysis and communication skills while gaining insight into the world of publishing.
