Welcome back! 20 more permanent classrooms open at elementary schools

Welcome back! 20 more permanent classrooms open at elementary schools
Twain, RHE and Franklin new additions

Teachers at three elementary schools had the chance to welcome students to new elementary additions this fall. As growth continues, permanent classroom additions at Benjamin Franklin Elementary, Rose Hill Elementary and Mark Twain Elementary make efficient use of the existing school grounds to create more classroom space. The additions also include shared learning spaces, which give teachers the flexibility to provide more small-group and project-based instructional opportunities.

The projects added 20 elementary classrooms in the district to help address growing enrollment.

In April 2019, voters approved funding for the additions as part of the 2019 Capital Construction Levy. A classroom addition at Rachel Carson Elementary and core expansions at Benjamin Franklin, Rose Hill and Twain elementary schools will open in fall 2022.
