Construction updates: Fall 2023

As part of the 2022 Building Excellence Construction Levy, Finn Hill Middle School, Kirkland Middle School, and Redmond Middle School are all adding eight more classrooms starting in the fall of 2024. The district website has posted renderings and site plans for the public to view. Thanks to the support of the voters and the community, all three projects are on track to meet their deadlines and budgets.

Finn Hill and Redmond Middle Schools make progress on classroom additions
The construction crews have been working hard since the summer, completing the earthwork and laying the slab on grade foundation at both sites. The photos below show the impressive work done so far. The next steps are installing the steel and beginning framing. This work is expected to begin in early December. The new classrooms will offer more space and enhance the learning environment with natural light and modern features.

Modular addition for Kirkland Middle School
A new modular 8-classroom addition will be added to Kirkland Middle School. Modular buildings are built off-site and then assembled on location. This saves time, money and resources. The project is under permit review in partnership with the City of Kirkland. Construction on site is expected to start in Spring 2024, and the building will be ready by Fall 2024.
