While most of the world eagerly waits for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics to begin tonight, LWSD middle school students are focused on a competition of their own. Inglewood, Evergreen, Finn Hill, Kamiakin and Redmond Middle Schools are competing in the Middle School Winter Olympics throughout February.

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) has 31 elementary schools (grades K-5), 13 middle schools (grades 6-8) and nine high schools (grades 9-12) throughout Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish, Washington. (Note: Exact grade levels may vary in choice schools. Schools that serve more than one grade level are counted in each grade level they serve.)
LWSD has 27 neighborhood elementary schools. In addition, four choice elementary schools provide optional schooling alternatives and meet specific needs and interests.
There are seven neighborhood middle schools in the district. In addition, six choice middle schools provide optional schooling alternatives to serve specific needs and interests.
There are four neighborhood high schools in the district. In addition, five choice high schools serve specific needs and interests, including academic rigor, an increased pace of study, vocational programs and project-based learning.
