At Benjamin Franklin Elementary on March 21, 25 Eagle Buddies presented their work for the year to Lake Washington School District officials and parents.
Twain Elementary and LWSD’s Equity & Family Engagement Department teamed up to host two STEM nights this March.
Five elementary students from LWSD schools participated in the Future Chefs Culinary Competition on February 29. The students were picked from nearly 200 submissions.
Several fifth graders at Rose Hill Elementary are working to become Teachers of Tomorrow. The students spend their recess on Fridays helping teachers of all grades by filing and grading papers, reading to fellow students, as well as assisting with other teaching related tasks as needed.
Alcott Elementary School partnered with a regional museum to educate students on whales and their place in our ecosystem.
Muir Elementary School’s annual Family Literacy night was another big success.
Students at Twain Elementary held an assembly to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

LWSD has 29 neighborhood elementary schools. In addition, four choice elementary schools provide optional schooling alternatives and meet specific needs and interests.
