LWSD athletes at WSSB annual track meet

Six Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students demonstrated determination, resilience and athletic achievement at the Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) Annual Track Meet on May 28 in Vancouver, Washington. The event brings together students ages 5-21 who are blind or have low vision from across Washington state for a day of competition, connection and celebration of athletic accomplishment.

Muir staff member gets slimed

Students at Muir Elementary celebrated their reading success in a big, and slimy, way on June 5.

After two weeks of hard work on Lexia, a computer‑based literacy program, students completed an impressive 6,399 reading units across the school, with second grade leading the way.

Alcott groundbreaking

On May 27, 2026, Lake Washington School District celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rebuild & Enlarge project at Alcott Elementary.

The Rebuild & Enlarge of Alcott Elementary project is funded by the voter-approved 2024 Building Excellence Capital Construction Levy, which underscores the community's commitment to providing high-quality educational facilities for its students.
