Lake Washington School District (LWSD) recognizes the importance of providing opportunities for students to meet with and learn from community members. There are three different mentoring opportunities available to correspond with mentor interests and availability.

Academic Support
Programs and services are available to ensure academic success for every student, including assistance for gaining English language proficiency, services for Native American students, and services to reduce the effects of poverty on student learning.

College and Career Readiness
College and Career Readiness provides opportunities for every student to access rigorous and relevant career-connected learning that prepares students for post-secondary success and access to high-skill and in-demand jobs.

English Language Learner
The English Language Learner (ELL) program helps students to become more proficient in using the English language. ELL classrooms in LWSD honor and respect the many cultures that gather there each day.

Homeless Services

Preschool
Lake Washington preschool focuses on providing children and families with a successful first school experience. Families with a four-year-old child living within the LWSD boundaries of are eligible to apply for the preschool program.

Accelerated academic programs are available to students in grades kindergarten through 12. These programs are designed to meet the learning styles and needs of students with superior intellectual, academic and creative abilities.

LWSD has a long-standing commitment to sustainability. Lake Washington is a recognized leader in sustainability practices and education in the region. The district won a 2015 McKinstry Champions of Sustainability award.
