Use an ORCA card to navigate the region

Lake Washington School District encourages the community to take advantage of the many transportation options available to commuters throughout the region. The easiest way to pay for bus, train and ferry options is with the ORCA (one regional card for all) card. The card can be used across Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit, Kitsap Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Washington State Ferries. The ORCA card is all you need to pay your fare on buses and trains in the Puget Sound region.

ORCA YOUTH CARD – YOUTH RIDE TRANSIT FOR FREE!

Riding Metro gives kids the freedom to go places and have fun with their friends. An ORCA youth card is available to youth age 6-18. These riders can now take transit for free thanks to Move Ahead Washington, a statewide transportation funding package. With an ORCA youth card, students can transfer easily to any participating transit agency, they don’t need to carry cash, and can save a lot of money because they get credit for what they already paid for their ride! Visit https://info.myorca.com/youth-ride-free/#youthbanner for more information. 

Cost

Getting a card is easy and is $5 or less (youth cards are free). Then just add value, tap and ride with ORCA.
Your ORCA card can be loaded with:

• A regional monthly pass
• A regional day pass. Good for unlimited rides starting at first use through 3 a.m. the next day. Additional fare is required for one-way fares above $3.50 (adult) or $1.75 (reduced fare).
• An agency-specific pass, like Kitsap Transit or Washington State Ferries monthly pass.
• E-purse, short for electronic purse, to use like cash to pay your fare. Store from $5 to $400 E-purse value on your ORCA card.
• A combination of pass and E-purse. Add E-purse to cover any additional fares beyond your monthly pass.

You can sign up for or purchase an ORCA card online at www.myorca.com, by phone at 1-888-988-6722 (TTY Relay: 711), through ticket vending machines around the region and at retail locations.
