Would you wear a watch and slippers made from carbon dioxide emissions? Or brush your teeth using toothpaste made from CO₂? Before the pandemic, students at Evergreen Middle School were learning about real products that capture and store carbon dioxide that would otherwise go into the atmosphere.
Student Services

The Student Services department works to support LWSD schools and students by:
- Reducing barriers to regular school attendance
- Increasing opportunities for participation in athletics and activities
- Providing positive and harmonious school environments, where diversity is respected and encouraged

Student Well-Being
LWSD provides a variety of supports, in collaboration with other agencies, to help students' well-being.
Suicide Prevention and Behavioral Heath
Self-guided behavioral health screening and intervention for middle school students

Attendance
Attendance matters to academic performance. Students are chronically absent if they miss 10% of school days - that's only two days a month.

Guidance Counseling
School counseling programs promote social and emotional health of all students. School counselors help students prepare for their future.

Athletics and Activities
Lake Washington schools provide a variety of opportunities for students to engage in interscholastic athletics and school activities.

Advancement Programs
Programs that support student access to college.
AVID - secondary level college prep program
College-Bound - scholarship program for low-income students
Running Start - tuition-free college courses for 11th and 12th graders
