Lake Washington School District's Preschool Program accepting applications starting April 1 for 3- and 4-year old students
Lake Washington School District's Preschool Program will start accepting tuition-based applications for the 2019-20 school year beginning April 1 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Registration takes place at the Resource Center (16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond). If more children are registered for any one location or session (a.m. or p.m.) than we have availability, a lottery for each Preschool building will be held by April 16 to determine the students in those classes. We do our best to balance classes so that all students have a wonderful learning experience. Children must be three and four years old by August 31 of the current school year.
Parents will be notified of results by May 15. After April 1, applications will be accepted at the Resource Center on any school day from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Upon confirmation of classroom enrollment, a $400 deposit will be required by June 3, 2019.
Only children registered on April 1 during the registration hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. are eligible to be in the lottery. Read more about Lake Washington Preschool Programs.
The LWSD Preschool Program focuses on providing children and families with a successful first-school experience. Families with a 3- and/or 4-year-old child living within the boundaries of Lake Washington School District are eligible to apply for the preschool program.
LWSD offers the following preschool programs:
Head Start
Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive early childhood program offering services for the entire family and focuses on school readiness. Families whose income meets the federal poverty guidelines qualify for the Head Start component of the preschool program. The program is designed for children ages 3 and 4, with priority for enrollment given to 4-year-olds. Verification of income must be received before a family can be considered for placement in Head Start. A Family Support Specialist works with families to obtain all needed income documentation.
