Technology details
Technology investment is centered on five key areas. Within each of these areas are critical elements that support technology-rich instructional resources and a robust infrastructure essential to leverage technology in reaching the Strategic Plan Goals. Over the four-year implementation the district will be able to sustain the 1:1 program, enhance our infrastructure, provide professional development, support, and continue integrating technology into the operations and instruction of the district. The levy will build out a sustainable model for advancing staff skill in leveraging technology for innovation and learning in partnership with our community, family, students and staff.
Technology infrastructure management and upgrades
Provide critical technology infrastructure upgrades are capable of meeting current and future needs:
- Upgrade cybersecurity & web filtering systems
- District Wi-Fi network capacity & performance
- District LAN and fiber optic WAN equipment upgrades
- Data center & voice systems upgrades
- Replace and upgrade power management – outage protection
- Maintain & upgrade security camera system
Equipment life cycle management and program support
Ensure classroom and building technology stays updated to enhance student learning, staff productivity and safety:
- K-12 student mobile 1:1 laptop upgrades
- Staff laptop and desktop upgrades
- Classroom audio/video technology equipment maintenance and upgrades
- Assistive technology equipment for special education programs
- Onsite technical and instructional support staff
Instructional software and support systems
Provide instructional technology tools and applications for teachers and students:
- Instructional software subscriptions and licenses
- Enhance the learning environment with digital curriculum upgrades
- Student hotspot Internet access
Business operations and technology systems
Provide critical business systems and technology operations software and support:
- Operational software subscriptions and licenses
- Maintain and/or enhance systems for managing student information, human resources information, finance and payroll, family/community communications, automated workflow/processes, nutrition/food services, transportation, content management and archiving, and data analytics
- Refresh high-capacity printers in the Print Center
Technology integration and professional development
Ensure staff have the resources, skills, and support to enhance instructional design and engage students as creators and collaborators:
- Research and enhance instructional tools for student engagement and academic success
- Job-embedded professional development for staff use and application of technology
