LWLC bands The Bandalorian virtual performance

Just one week before schools closed last March due to the pandemic, band classes in the Lake Washington Learning Community performed together for their annual Region Concert. This year, without the opportunity for an in-person concert, school band directors chose to carry on this regional performance tradition by creating a virtual video collaboration of the theme music from “The Mandalorian.”

Orchils Lego competition

There are only winners when teams show up to the FIRST ®LEGO® League (FLL) Challenge state championship each year, and 2021 was no different. One team with students from Lake Washington School District (LWSD) that competed this year is headed to the global semi-finals. A second team isn’t moving on to the finals but they created a real-world application that addresses fitness and well-being during remote living.

Thank you LWSD grounds crew for your efforts this year

    LWSD Grounds Crew

We would like to take this opportunity to express our admiration and gratitude to our Lake Washington School District grounds team for their effort especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are a district with 52 sites across 76 square miles. Our grounds team maintains over 700 acres ensuring each site is safe and secure for our students, staff and community at LWSD. The team continues to provide essential work and excellent service while complying with COVID-19 safety requirements such as physical distancing, and sanitization of tools and equipment.

Our ability to ensure our sites are welcoming, safe and secure year-round can only be accomplished with the leadership and hard work from our incredible team.
