LWLC bands The Bandalorian virtual performance

Just one week before schools closed last March due to the pandemic, band classes in the Lake Washington Learning Community performed together for their annual Region Concert. This year, without the opportunity for an in-person concert, school band directors chose to carry on this regional performance tradition by creating a virtual video collaboration of the theme music from “The Mandalorian.”

Baby Yoda give two thumbs up for LWHS, KiMS and RHMS band collab "The Bandalorian"

Just one week before schools closed last March due to the pandemic, band classes in the Lake Washington Learning Community performed together for their annual Region Concert. This year, without the opportunity for an in-person concert, school band directors chose to carry on this regional performance tradition by creating a virtual video collaboration of the theme music from “The Mandalorian.” The directors, Matthew Kruse, Angie Laulainen and Cameron Stedman prepared the students for recording and helped them through the process to submit their videos. One hundred and sixteen students from Lake Washington High School, Kirkland Middle School and Rose Hill Middle School submitted videos. The students recorded themselves using their school computers and posted their videos to Flipgrid. From there, Kirkland Middle School Band Director, Cameron Stedman, compiled the videos and did the sound and video editing to create “The Bandalorian.” We hope you enjoy the performance!
