Toy Drive brings holiday cheer to 850 LWSD students
Toy Drive

Lake Washington School District’s Equity and Family Engagement Department teamed up with The Salvon Ahmed Safehouse Foundation and passionate community volunteers to host a toy drive at Juanita High School. Thanks to the generosity of donors, over 1000 toys and more than $4,500 was collected, ensuring that 850 students would receive their gifts during the holiday season.

Toys were collected at the LWSD Resource Center and donors were encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for students age 5-18 by purchasing them through an Amazon Wish List. Toys were distributed to families last weekend.

Ahmed graduated from Juanita High School and is currently a running back for the Miami Dolphins. His foundation’s mission is to inspire, educate and empower the lives of children, offering them exposure to opportunities and providing resources to maximize their potential.
