Inglewood Middle School (IMS) offered a brand new, two-week intramural sport this year: Cricket.

"We looked at our school demographics and felt like this would be a great opportunity to not only learn a new sport but also to increase our awareness of other cultures,” said IMS Athletics Director Shannon Bleek. “In addition, cricket is one of the fastest growing sports in the Pacific Northwest, and we want to expose student athletes to all types of sports."

Unfortunately, due to weather, all play was indoors this year, but Bleek and IMS hope to continue to grow this partnership and opportunity in the coming years. That includes expanding it to outdoor play and hopefully an even larger student group. Bleek stated the experience was a great two-weeks of learning, teaching and seeing students shine.
