Rose Hill Middle School drama students create original production from the ground up

Rose Hill Middle School recently premiered the play titled “Jaliya.” The show is about a girl not of this world who is hunted by a lurking evil. Inquisitors, vagabonds, bards and nomads will ultimately decide her fate. The story takes place in ancient Egypt and mixes in mythology of North Africa with traditional African music. Not only did students record the music, they designed the costumes, and also the sets with elaborate hieroglyph walls. In fact, the entire production was an original created by Rose Hill Middle School students with the guidance of the Drama Club Advisor Josh Hollister.
