    ICS student places in top three at Poetry Out Loud Northwest Washington Regional Finals 


    ICS student Clio Erignac

    After winning the school-wide competition at International Community School (ICS) for two poem readings, Clio Erignac (grade 10) went on to place in the top three at the Poetry Out Loud Northwest Washington Regional Finals on Thursday, February 11. Clio will compete in the State Poetry Out Loud Final competition on Tuesday, March 16. All Washington competitions are virtual this year. 

    The 2021 State Final will be broadcast on Tuesday, March 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visit the website for additional information about the broadcast.

    The state champion receives a $200 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. (with a chaperone) to compete in the National Finals. The state champions’ school receives $500 for the purchase of poetry books. The runner-up in the state competition gets a $100 cash prize. Their school library receives a $200 cash prize.

    National Finals champions receive a $25,000 scholarship and school stipends for poetry books. A total of $50,000 in prizes are awarded to the top students.
