Students at Redmond High School come into their Computer Science and Engineering course with little to no programming skills. By the time they leave, students are creating working robots. The robots are so advanced that students use their own phones to control the machines via Bluetooth technology.
BECU employees lead students through exercise on financial fitness
Students got a dose of financial reality at Lake Washington High School on Oct. 9. BECU employees partnered with the school to teach students about financial fitness and budgeting. Students could download a simulation app to their own phone or use a tablet provided by the credit union.
BECU began the “Closing for Good” event in 2015 to celebrate its 80th anniversary. This year, BECU employees hosted financial reality fairs at 12 high schools in the Puget Sound and Spokane.
