National PTA has recognized both Peter Kirk and Norman Rockwell Elementary schools as 2021-2023 Schools of Excellence.
Anika Piskala Srinivas, a rising third grader at Redmond Elementary, wrote a poem about changing the world. Not too long after that, her poem was selected in the top ten nationally in the kindergarten-third grade division in the Creative Communication poetry contest.
Elementary schools across the district raised thousands of dollars in the recent Kids Heart Challenge. The event is hosted by the American Heart Association’s (AHA).
This spring, the entire Rose Hill Elementary School community took part in a shared reading and learning experience that launched on Read Across America Day and culminated in an outdoor event and group photo.
Students in Katie Jacobs’ fourth grade class at Franklin Elementary worked on building hydraulic powered claws in class during the month of May. This end of the year STEM project led to seeing life-sized machines up close and in person.
