Police Chief for a Day – a first grader’s dream come true

Bryce Stubblefield, a first grade student at Twain Elementary School, wants to be a police officer when he grows up. And his dream is about to come true! The City of Kirkland Police Department chose Bryce to be their 2018 Police Chief for a Day.

Mead gives back to the community and connects families

Mead Elementary PTSA hosted a used book and clothing fair during the week of January 22, and a pancake breakfast on Friday. Students, parents, teachers and community members donated 5,419 books. The fair earned $1,100 for the school and provided teachers with 1,000 books for their classrooms.

Informational displays represented each country. Students received a stamp in their Heritage Night passport for every country they “visited”.

Countries represented at Muir’s Heritage Night included: Argentina, Armenia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Finland, India, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam and Zambia.
