This spring, Rush Elementary School students participated in the school’s 12th annual Young Author’s program. Students worked to write and illustrate a book on the topic of their choice.
Muir families travel abroad at Heritage Night
John Muir Elementary School families shared their cultures and traditions at Heritage Night on October 12. Informational displays represented each country. Students received a stamp in their Heritage Night passport for every country they “visited”.
Families enjoyed food, traditional clothing, and special performances by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Capoeria Brazilian Martial Arts Troupe, and the Seattle Kokon Taiko Japanese Drummers.
Countries represented at Muir’s Heritage Night included: Argentina, Armenia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Finland, India, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam and Zambia.
