Mead gives back to the community and connects families

Mom and son look through books at Mead Elementary School's book fairPancakes, books, and clothes, oh my! Mead Elementary PTSA hosted a used book and clothing fair during the week of January 22, along with a pancake breakfast on Friday. Students, parents, teachers and community members donated 5,419 books. The fair earned $1,100 for the school and provided teachers with 1,000 books for their classrooms. The PTSA also gave back to the community by donating to local organizations such as Eastside Baby Corner, Joy of Reading, Friends of Sammamish Library and Hopelink in Kirkland.

The community came together again on Friday to enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by Mead dads. The PTSA hosts the event to bring families together and help dads get to know each other. Together, the dads served more than 200 breakfasts and made new connections too.
