Creativity and learning collide with visit from the teaching toymaker
Horace Mann Elementary second graders got a hands-on toy-building lesson from “Mr. Toymaker,” Rick Hartman. Students used simple tools and math concepts to make rubber band-powered boats with their own kid-friendly saws and hammers. Once they were done, the kids played with their boats and conducted science experiments in big tubs of water scattered throughout the room. A fun, educational time was had by all!
