Rockwell Elementary Earth Day

On Earth Day, fourth graders at Norman Rockwell Elementary School learned how soil and water are connected during a virtual presentation that introduces students to creatures that live in the soil.

Rosa Parks Elementary Earth Day 2021

Make that Friday-night pizza delicious and nutritious with fresh, home-grown vegetables. As part of Earth Week, the Rosa Parks Elementary PTSA distributed seeds and soil for students to plant at home.

Audubon Elementary Earth Day 2021

The Green Team at John James Audubon Elementary shared videos on FlipGrid about how they celebrate Earth Day. Some of their ideas included using sunlight instead of electricity, planting trees, recycling, drawing pictures and picking up litter.

    Achieving new heights – Barton Elementary student wins national Young Achiever award


    Barton Elementary Young Achiever

    Positive role model. Successful achiever. Good citizen. These are all phrases that define an International Leadership Network Young Achiever. Clara Barton Elementary fifth grader Gaurangi Gupta was recently named a 2021 Young Achiever. She is the only person from Washington state and just one of 16 in the country to be recognized with this award. 

    According to their website, Young Achievers is a nationwide program that promotes community as well as the positive accomplishments of young people. They are also recognized as good citizens in their schools and communities and competent scholars who have achieved success in a variety of areas.
