Dear LWSD Staff and Families,

Thank you to each person that has completed our recent surveys. These surveys will help the District understand the current experience for students and staff so that we can identify areas to improve. We will communicate the results of the survey over the coming weeks. The results will also be made available on the District website.

Our county and local region continue to see unfortunate increases in COVID-19. King County has reported 176 cases per 100,000 residents over the last 14 days. Kirkland is reporting 103 cases, Redmond is reporting 62 cases, Union Hill is reporting 55 cases, and Sammamish is reporting 80 cases per 100,000 residents over the last 14 days. Our diligence as a community will allow us to transition when conditions are in alignment with Public Health guidance. Our goal of serving students in person has not waivered through this process and we know it must be in context of health and safety data.

Please remember that there is no school on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. We are grateful to all that have served our country both home and abroad. All LWSD schools and buildings will be closed on Wednesday.

Respectfully,

Jon
