As growth continues on the Sammamish Plateau, Lake Washington School District is set to begin construction this summer on a four-classroom addition at Rachel Carson Elementary.

In April 2019, voters approved a capital construction levy to provide classroom space for 1,052 students. Carson’s new addition will open in fall 2022. Additions at three other elementary schools funded by the levy will open in fall 2021 and an addition at Lake Washington High School opened in fall 2020.
