Redmond, Wash. – Lake Washington School District (LWSD) has reached an agreement with the Lake Washington Education Association (LWEA). The current agreement expires on August 10, 2023. The new agreement is effective August 11, 2023 through August 10, 2027.

The LWSD Board of Directors approved the contract at their June 20, 2023 meeting.

The LWEA represents all certificated staff positions within LWSD.

Highlights of the agreement include:

• Staffing increases for school counselors and special education teachers over the next two years.
• A 3.7% increase in base salaries for the 2023-24 school year.
• Increased protocols and supports regarding student and staff safety.
• Shifting October conferences to the beginning of the school year to meet and partner with families on the learning of students.
