Good evening Redmond Middle School Families,
Redmond Middle School closed on Friday, January 14.
As you are aware we have been responding to staffing shortages across the district since we returned from Winter Break. This response has included the temporary shift of four high schools this week to remote learning. Currently, Redmond Middle School will have over 25% of staff absent tomorrow due illness, COVID and other factors. Given this, we are closing Redmond Middle School tomorrow, Friday, January 14.
Students should expect to receive asynchronous work from their teachers via Microsoft Teams or email tomorrow.
I have decided to close the school rather than shift to remote learning given the long weekend and potential to regain staff as we return on Tuesday, January 18. My team will meet on Monday afternoon to review staffing levels and absences. Should Redmond Middle have similar absences next week, we will need to temporarily shift Redmond Middle School to remote learning. You can expect to receive a message on Monday afternoon/evening about the status of school.
