JHS to Stay in Remote Learning Model one additional day, In-Person now begins Friday 1/21

Dear Juanita High School Families,

We will be extending our remote instruction by one additional day after consulting with King County Public Health. Given the volume of cases that have been reported to Juanita this week, Public Health has advised us to consider the likelihood that all students who had been on campus may have been in close contact with someone that has since tested positive rather than conducting individual contact tracing for each case. Delaying a return to in-person learning allows for quarantine periods to have been completed prior to bringing our students back together on campus now starting Friday, January 21

The school will be sending out additional information to families about health considerations.

I appreciate your partnership as we navigate responses to the challenges of COVID. You can expect to receive additional information from Principal Clapp and your student’s teachers next week regarding the additional day of remote learning.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jon Holmen
Superintendent
