LWSD announces calendar changes: May 30 is now a regular school day
Last day of school remains Friday, June 23
Lake Washington School District (LWSD) has finalized plans to make up for the one day missed due to the November 30 snow day. The 2022-23 calendar has been modified to reflect this change:
- Tuesday, May 30: Change from a non-school day to a full day for students.
May 30 was built-in as a snow make-up day, meaning that if we had snow days this school year, we would make them up by changing this day from a non-student day to a regular school day.

Find Your Fit is a program of Lake Washington Schools Foundation.
LWSF supports families in need through partnership with LWSD and ALE
The Lake Washington Schools Foundation is committed to finding ways to help families in need and are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors, LWSF was able to contribute $50,000 in the fall to LWSD Families Helping Families, a district program that provides food vouchers to food-insecure students over school holiday breaks.
As part of their efforts to remove barriers and promote student stability, they also donated $14,500 to Assistance League of the Eastside's Operation School Bell. These funds were used to directly support LWSD students facing hardship by providing them with new clothes and shoes, books, school supplies, medications and groceries.

Reminder: Honor your teacher with a valentine
This Valentine's Day, let teachers and staff know you care. From now until February 7, when you make a donation to Lake Washington Schools Foundation in a teacher or staff member's honor, they'll put their name on our virtual Wall of Love, send them this year's beautiful Art Nouveau-style inspirational postcard or even include a limited-edition enamel pin.
Visit www.lwsf.org/valentine to make your selections. Your order supports the Foundation's work and brightens a staff member's day!

LWHS students legislate to ban pricing discrimination
Students in Lake Washington High School’s AP US Government & Politics classes get first-hand experience in the legislative process. As part of the class, students crafted Senate Bill (SB) 5171, which bans gender-based price discrimination on similar products. For example, products like backpacks, bicycle helmets and clothing that cost more if they are marketed to women versus if they are marketed to men. Read more about this on the LWSD website.
