The Lake Washington School District (LWSD) Board of Directors has selected Dr. Jane Stavem to be the next Lake Washington School District Superintendent. From an impressive pool of applicants, Dr. Stavem emerged as the top choice to lead the district.

The Lake Washington School District Board of Directors interviewed five semifinalists in the Superintendent Search process on Friday, June 22. As a result, the Board has selected three finalists to advance in the process.

    Share your talents, gain experience and inspire a child

    Volunteers play an important role supporting student learning in Lake Washington School District (LWSD). Currently, LWSD has over 16,000 approved volunteers. These volunteers are parents, relatives, community members and students who are committed to helping students be successful. Volunteers enrich student learning opportunities in classrooms, in schools and on field trips.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Volunteers can help in classrooms, offices or the school library. Volunteers can help with the following activities:

    • Classroom activities
    • Special school events or projects
    • Art Docent program
    • Parties
    • Dances
    • After school programs
    • Sports

    Volunteers over the age of 21 can serve as field trip chaperones.

    Each school also has a PTSA or parent organization that uses volunteers for its programs. Contact your school's PTSA or parent organization for more information.

    If you are a community member you may also be interested in our LINKS program. LINKS stands for Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools. LINKS coordinates Lunch Buddy mentors in ten elementary schools. For more information, please visit the LINKS website.
