Each student will demonstrate his or her highest level of achievement and application of knowledge within a well-rounded, interdisciplinary program of study.

Accordingly, students will:

Literacy & Language

  • Write clearly and effectively in English for a variety of audiences and purposes
  • Read, interpret, analyze, and evaluate for both literary and informational texts
  • Understand and apply commonly accepted rules and conventions of the English language
  • Communicate effectively in a language other than English

Mathematical & Scientific Reasoning

  • Understand and apply mathematical principles and concepts
  • Solve problems, reason, and communicate mathematically
  • Understand and apply scientific principles and concepts
  • Solve problems, reason, and communicate scientifically

Social Studies

  • Understand U.S. and world geography, history and current events in a global context
  • Understand and evaluate the structure and function of economic systems in the U.S. and the world
  • Understand and evaluate the structure and function of political and governmental systems in the U.S. and the world

Information & Communication Technology

  • Demonstrate information, communication and media literacy
  • Understand the relationship of technology to productivity and quality of life
  • Present information for a variety of audiences and purposes using a range of Information and Communication Technology tools

Culture & the Arts

  • Understand and apply the basic concepts of design, music, literature, art, dance and drama
  • Communicate artistically
  • Understand and evaluate the role of religion and philosophies in world events and cultures

Career Planning & Life Management

  • Demonstrate the necessary skills to locate and evaluate school and career information
  • Develop a future school and/or career plan
  • Understand and apply personal financial literacy and consumerism in a capitalist economic system
  • Develop healthy habits that include physical fitness and emotional well-being
  • Understand and develop entrepreneurial and management skills and strategies
