Graduation Exercises
Commencement and Baccalaureate Exercises
Commencement exercises shall be free from sectarian influence. Cultural traditions such as invocation and benediction observances inherent in such exercises may be honored in the spirit of accommodation.
The district shall not sponsor a baccalaureate service. Parents and/or outside groups may elect to sponsor such a service without any promotion through the school. Staff and student participation shall be voluntary. If school facilities are used, they may be rented by the sponsoring body.
To be eligible to participate in commencement exercises, students shall meet all state and district requirements for graduation.
