Work Experience Opportunities

Whenever possible and appropriate, actual work experience opportunities shall be part of career exploration programs and vocational and technical programs.

As appropriate, work experience shall take the form of career-exploratory activities, work done in shops and laboratories of the various technical/vocational schools and departments, or cooperative programs provided through local businesses and industries. The school system itself shall provide student job experiences in certain departments.

In all instances, programs offering practical work experience shall be organized and conducted solely for the purpose of providing the students with a valuable career exploratory or training experience. Federal and state requirements pertaining to the employment of minors shall be observed, and funded programs shall meet federal and state guidelines.
