Board Meetings

The board's business meetings and study sessions are open to the public

The Lake Washington School District Board of Directors generally holds regular business meetings and study sessions twice a month. Meetings are held in the Board Room at the L.E. Scarr Resource Center, located at 16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond Town Center.

Meetings
LWSD School Board meetings begin at 7 p.m. At these meetings, the majority of the Board’s discussion and work focuses on reviewing progress related to the End Results Policies. Public comment is built into this meeting’s agenda for community members to address the board on any topic related to board work. Board study sessions usually occur before the meeting.

Board meetings are televised on Comcast Channel 26 in some areas of the district. You can view streaming video of school board meetings or saved videos of past meetings.

Study sessions
Study sessions are opportunities for the board to learn more about a specific topic. No decisions are made at study sessions. When the business meeting begins at 7 p.m., it usually is preceded by a 5:00 p.m. study session.

Executive Sessions
From time to time, the board will meet in executive session, often before or after a business meeting. These sessions are not open to the public. They are limited to specific topics such as personnel matters or acquisition of real estate.
