Redmond, Wash. – The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced today that 11 Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students will receive National Merit $2500 Scholarships. Fifty-four students were selected statewide for these awards.

The award program highlights the creativity, dedication and impact of school nutrition teams across Washington state. LWSD partners with Sodexo to provide meal services to students.

The State Superintendent’s Award for Educational Excellence recognizes the 25 top-performing school districts in educational achievement in the previous school year and the 25 top-performing school districts in progress over the last three school years.

Redmond, Wash. – Lake Washington School District’s (LWSD) Nutrition Services Department is pleased to share important information regarding meal accommodations on school days for students observing Ramadan in 2026. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a waiver allowing schools in Washington to provide takeaway meals to students fasting during Ramadan. LWSD partners with Sodexo to provide meal services to students.

Tesla STEM High School senior Sree Sarvepalli is a recipient of a 2026 Science Olympiad Founders’ Scholarship, a national honor awarded to just five students across the country.

Carson Elementary came alive during an Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month assembly as students welcomed the Mak Fai Lion Dance troupe from Seattle.

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) teams performed very well at the Washington Science Olympiad State Tournament. The first place team in each division comes from one of our LWSD schools!

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is partnering with SPLASHForward to pilot the “Every Second Grader Learns to Swim” program, providing free swim instruction and water safety education to LWSD second graders.
